Oh, LiveJournal, how I miss you! It was fun blogging with you before I went all fancy and designed my own site here on WordPress. Which, yes, does have more benefits. But there are things I still miss about Livejournal. Like the sense of community. And how easy it was keeping up with other blogs thanks to the Entries Feed for Friends features. But mostly … I miss the fun memes.
Got no clue what to blog again? Do a meme. Boom. Done.
For poops and giggles, I searched for old LiveJournal memes and seeing as how I have no clue what to blog about today, (and I need to finish packing for the Tinkerbell Half Marathon,) I thought I’d give this one a go!
A LYRICAL MEME
1. Put your music player on shuffle.
2. Press forward for each question.
3. Use the song title as the answer to the question.
What does next year have in store for me?
Against the Wind by Bob Seger. Yeah, that’s appropriate since I’ve been working hard following my passions instead of continuing to take the easy route by floating with the current.
What’s my love life like?
Keys to your Love by The Rolling Stones. Huh. Not gonna try to interpret that one.
What do I say when life gets hard?
Day Too Soon by Sia which is from her Some People Have Real Problems album so yeah, appropriate. Don’t Stop Believing would have been so much better, though.
What do I think when I get up in the morning?
Hush Hush by Erin McCarley, seriously, that’s just funny. I’m a major Erin McCarley fan, though, so I’m glad a song of hers came up!
What song will I dance to at my wedding?
In My Own Eyes by Brandi Carlile … huh. Great song, no connection, though. And I’ve been married for 23 years so yeah, a little too late for this one.
What do you want as a career?
*please land on something writer-ish, please land on something writer-ish*
Survey by Erin McCarley. Hmm, Erin’s getting a little hoggish here but … I am reinventing my writing career, so yes???
Your favorite saying?
Nobody (Live Aucostic) by Kate Earl … nowhere near near my favorite saying. I’m cheating by spinning again:
Morning by Lucy Schwartz … so maybe cheating is bad.
Your pet’s name?
Without Expression by John Mellencamp. Jamie is not entertained.
Favorite place?
Amsterdam by Imagine Dragons … haven’t been there, but it would be awesome!
What do you think of your parents?
New Blue Moon by the Traveling Wilburys, which is rather sweet because of the “I don’t want nothing, nothing but you” lyrics.
First Date?
The Hat by Ingrid Michaelson … actually, my first date with Bob was a Reba McEntire concert. Had a total blast.
Drug of choice?
In Your Time by Bob Seger. Is that what all the kids are doing now?
Describe yourself.
That Wasn’t Me by Brandi Carlile. Hmm. Considering her gorgeous lyrics “But I want you to know that you’ll never be alone, I wanna believe do I make myself a blessing to everyone I meet, when you fall I will get you on your feet,” then yeah, that’s me.
What is the thing I like doing most?
Seeds by Brooke Fraser which could be a gardening reference, although–wrong-o, I have NO green thumb!
What is my state of mind like at the moment?
Under Pressure by Queen … WHICH IS THE MOST PERFECT ANSWER YET!!!
How will I die?
A Little Bit Crazy by Jess Penner … oh no, will I snap from all the pressure I put on myself one day? Geez. I hope not. Better start doing more yoga.
There. Boom. Done. Time to hit publish.
And do more of these themes because they really are fun!
