Shop Talk Tuesday break
Yeah, I know, it’s been quiet this month in the shop. I needed to take a break to get my ducks in a row. Hmm. Who ever came up with that, anyway, ducks in a row?
Let’s find out, shall we?
According to Answer.com: Complete one’s preparations, become efficient and well organized, as in I’m trying to get my ducks in a row before I go to Europe. This synonym for get one’s act together probably alludes to lining up target ducks in a shooting gallery. [Slang; 1970s]
Good to know, huh? And proof I need to get away from this computer. What else have I been doing lately besides attacking a monster to-do list?
Making a profile page at Jacketflap, where I now have 21 new friends. Thank you, new friends! Let me know if you’re at JacketFlap as well, because one can never have too many friends.
Then there’s the addictive Shelfari. Wow, I could stay on that sucker all night, finding all favorite books from the past and seeing who else likes them. If you check it out . . . be warned. You could be on there for a while!
And then I had to totally redo my layout at MySpace, because my old one had this ad right over my contact info that I couldn’t get rid of. And while I was at it, I added a photo show because all the cool kids are doing it.
After that, I considered joining Facebook because, apparently, that really is where all the cools kids are now . . . but I’m putting on the brakes, seeing how I goggled ‘ducks in a row.’ For a while, at least . . .
Anyway, I’ll be re-opening the shop with more author interviews starting in November!
