These big boys broke the record last night by pulling 5,800 pounds and if they had the opportunity, they might have been able to pull more. Gorgeous animals!
I wish I had a picture of this one mule who jumped a 4′ 5″ fence–from a standstill–but there wasn’t enough light for the shot to take. (BTW, the winner of the horse pull pulled 8,000.)
The judge for the steer show did a fantastic job of taking his time picking the grand champion market steer, keeping all the 4-hers on their toes, before dramatically slapping the rear of a Simmental steer for Grand and a crossbred for Reserve.
And I was a good and had the fruit cup instead of fries and peach sundae. Yeah, I know. Boring. Tonight is the last night of our fair. *sniff.* And last chance for that sundae . . .
