Good books

In 2006, I fell way behind with my to-read list. So I’m trying to make up for it by reading (or listening to) one book a week.

What I’m loving so far:

INVISIBLE, by Pete Hautman

Awesome book. I grew to care so much for Dougie, the seventeen-year-old loner, despite his disturbing and yet understandable behavior. Great plot development, as well. In hindsight, I should have predicted the twist, but it came as a surprise by the skillful way it was written.

SAINT IGGY, by K.L. Going

Wow, this book blew me away. It’s the kind of story that leaves you stunned after reading the last page, with the final scene replaying over and over in your head. And Iggy Corso is the kind of character you’ll never forget. My advice? Don’t finish this book minutes before you’re supposed to work on your own novel, as I found out this morning! 😉
