Hi Ms. Bowers,
I last saw you at the Ag center in Westminster last fall in the area of the authors and artists. I spoke to you and told you that I had bought your book a few years ago, but hadn’t read it yet. Well, I just finished it and I LOVED IT!!!! What a wonderful, heartwarming story. A lot of that is so true in many lives and it touched on mine. “Beauty Shop for Rent” is a great read and would make for a nice movie. It’s just wonderful! Are you going to publish anymore books? Thank you for a great story!

(Oh–sorry to disappoint, but I’m fairly certain it was stirrup pants, not a prairie skirt, I wore with that blouse in the yearbook photo. A prairie skirt probably would have caused me to trip and go sprawling across the aisle of the school bus.) : )

Hi, Laura!

I went to my first “real” county fair just last week. Wanted to see my first live bull riding show. My husband and I walked about a mile from our car to the rodeo ring, and as soon as we got there, it POURED! They held the event anyway, but after watching two guys get thrown (at about 2 seconds each), we hightailed it back to the car and left. We were soaked. Boo hoo!

Anyway, glad you’re having fun at your fair! Those horses ARE cute!
