Running Posts

When it comes to running content, I’m all over the place!

I used to chat about fitness on this blog until I founded Joyful Miles in 2016 with friends. On the Joyful Miles’ YouTube channel, there’s many recaps, vlogs and tip videos. We’ve also had a Podcast that ended in July but has lots of fun chats! There’s also tons of content over on the website about running, runDisney, and more.

I’m still uploading past runDisney race recaps on YouTube, but I’m now chatting about running and fitness here on Write, Run, Rejoice! It feels good to be back home. 🙂

Happy running!

2015 runDisney Wine & Dine Half Marathon

Sigh. This recap will be bittersweet for me now that runDisney has changed next year’s Wine & Dine Half Marathon to a morning race. But hey, if 2015’s was the last night race, at least we did it right by having an amazing weekend, evacuation and all! More on that mess later. Let’s get to the good [...]

2015 Jingle Jungle 5k Race Recap | Disney

Picking up where I had left off in my Expo recap, I barely slept for three nights, but once three cups of coffee slapped the fog from my brain, I was ready to go and so excited about this race! Really excited. Like, really, really excited because A.) I love Christmas, B.) I love the Animal [...]

2015 Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend Expo

After running a wet and chilly Splash & Dash in 2014, I was looking forward to a nice, normal Wine & Dine Half Marathon with nice, normal weather conditions. Those familiar with runDisney are snickering right now, because that surely didn’t happen. And those familiar with runDisney news also know that 2015’s race was the last one [...]

2015 Baltimore Full Marathon Recap

I really wish I wrote this in October, back when my emotions were fresh and memories vivid. But after watching the video recap I posted about Monday for the 2015 Baltimore Marathon, all those warm fuzzies came flooding back. Gotta say. Finishing this race, the third race of the King Crab Challenge, was a really big deal [...]

I’ll be posting a full recap tomorrow, but for now, here’s a video recap of my 2015 Baltimore Marathon experience! Be warned – things get shaky at the end. Real shaky, since I was more worried about hitting my goal time instead of taking good video. And I learned that it’s better to take random video shots [...]

2015 WDW Marathon Weekend Video Recap

I wasn’t going to make a video recap for runDisney’s 2015 WDW Marathon Weekend since that was, oh, over a year ago, but eh, why not. The memories were too awesome not to, so while Bob watched the Super Bowl, (way to go, Peyton,) I made this. Hope you enjoy! https://youtu.be/yt3ZDRxnM3E Now to finish PHM ’15, [...]

2015 runDisney Princess Half Marathon

Seeing as how there’s only, yikes, 23 days until 2016’s Princess Half Marathon, I’m keeping this short and sweet with mostly photos. Okay, so where was I? I’ve already chatted about the Fit for a Princess Expo. And the frozen Frozen 5k and Enchanted 10k here. Now on to the second half of the Glass Slipper Challenge and my third Princess [...]

Baltimore Marathon … it’s almost here, hon!

Wow. Hard to believe that the Baltimore Marathon is this Saturday. THIS SATURDAY, I’m so excited! And nervous. Terrified. A little nauseous. But mostly excited. After see this gorgeous line while going to Baltimore Ravens games at M&T Bank Stadium for … oh, what, around ten years? … I’m finally going to be running the actual [...]

2015 runDisney Enchanted 10k

And the (horribly late) recapping continues! Today’s topic is runDisney’s Enchanted 10k, the first part of the Glass Slipper Challenge! The weather was nicer than it was for the 5k … high 40’s maybe? … but I learned a humidity lesson: When the temps are low, high humidity makes it feel colder. When temps are high, humidity makes it [...]

2015 runDisney Frozen 5k

So, let me back up and start this (hideously late) recap a week before the race, where Facebook groups were buzzing over the predicted freezing temps for the Princess Half Marathon Frozen 5k. Some worry-warts with too much time on their hands were even monitoring several weather apps daily, keeping logs and noting any differences. (Okay, that was me.) Then [...]
