My poor grill.

April 13th, 2010

First it was Snowpocalypse 2010 . . .

. . . then a bunch of starlings tried to move in.

Poor thing. I think I’ll go out and buy it a brand-new cover to make up for all this.
And then I’ll actually keep the cover on for a change. Hmm, might be good [...]

Readergirlz Rock!

April 6th, 2010

Hey, all! Be sure to check out Readergirlz this month, who are featuring Deb Caletti’s THE SECRET LIFE OF PRICE CHARMING!

Quinn is surrounded by women who have had their hearts broken. Between her mother, her aunt, and her grandmother, Quinn hears nothing but cautionary tales. She tries to be an optimist–after all, [...]

Better find my wand!

March 30th, 2010

The dates are picked, our reservations are made–we’re going to Universal Orlando this September, woo-hoo-HOOOO, can’t wait, can’t wait, CAN’T WAIT!!!

And we get to see the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!!

Oh my gosh, I’m so excited. SO EXCITED! Even my non-reading son is looking forward to this. (Finally–we get [...]

The Future of Publishing

March 25th, 2010

My editor from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt sent me this very cool video, which may have already made the blogging rounds already, but I’m still hopelessly out of the loop.
(When will I learn how to balance? I’m so horrible at juggling writing and promoting and working and housekeeping and laundry and kid running and–yikes–exercising.)
Anyway, enjoy. [...]

Happiness is . . .

March 22nd, 2010

Happiness is . . .
. . . the year’s first daffodils . . .

. . . a fresh cup of coffee . . .

. . . my new favorite purse that I got for 65% off at Kohl’s, (and one in black, woo-HOO!!) . . .

. . . and [...]

Bugger.

March 16th, 2010

I lost my newsletter contact list. Each and every one of the 300+ email addresses.
It happened when my home computer was completely upgraded last June with a new hard drive. I saved all my documents, pictures, etc, but did I remember to save all of my saved emails and contacts?
Nope. Not-ta one. And they were [...]

There goes [a great part of] the neighborhood.

March 15th, 2010

I am so heartbroken. Our town’s charming, wonderful book store, Locust Books, that was located right on main street, is closing. So, so heartbreaking.
Not a lot to say about this other than I’m very, very sad.

Vintage Veronica by Erica Perle!

March 11th, 2010

What have I done so far today?
Absolutely NOTHING! I’m still on cloud nine from all the wonderful comments and emails from my announcement yesterday. (Thanks for the love!!) So I’ve been spending the day leisurely answering emails, posting replies, and sipping coffee while getting caught up with other writer’s websites and blogs. [...]

My very good news!

March 10th, 2010

Have you ever dreamed for, worked for, and prayed for something to happen for so, so long, that when it finally does, it doesn’t quite sink in at first and when the shock wears off, you’re nervous about announcing it?
Well, I’ve dreamed, I’ve worked, and I’ve prayed for something. And yes, I must admit [...]

There’s a tire on my mailbox.

March 10th, 2010

No, really–I mean it–there’s a TIRE on our MAILBOX!

Huh.
I must say, this is quite original so I can’t help but applaud our prankster’s creativity. Most people’s mailboxes are trashed with eggs or a baseball bat, but not us–we get a tire.
Does that mean they wheel-y like us?
Is there a secret [...]
